Our History

For over two decades, the North York Muslim Association has served the Muslim community in Central Uptown Toronto. From humble beginnings in a small rented space, we now serve over 50,000 Muslims, providing a masjid for daily prayers and community connection.

Our mission is to serve the growing Muslim community as a place of prayer and outreach, building a vibrant and spiritually thriving environment. We provide dawah initiatives, safe spaces for Quran learning, youth halaqas, and programs that connect families together.

The Muslim population in North York City Centre continues to grow, and so do the needs of our community. We currently operate from a rental space. To ensure long-term stability, we are working to secure an 11,400 sq ft property that will serve as a permanent masjid.
