Who we are
The North York Muslim Association (NYMA) is a welcoming Islamic organization serving the North York community through daily prayers, Jumu’ah services, Islamic education, outreach, and community support. For over 20 years, NYMA has worked to promote authentic Islamic values rooted in the Qur’an and Sunnah while fostering a spiritually grounded and socially engaged Muslim community in Canada.
Purpose
NYMA is committed to the Prophetic heritage of promoting authentic Islamic teachings that remain relevant to present times. Our mission is to nurture dependable Muslims in Canada who embody the universal values of Islam in their daily lives while contributing positively to the wider society through the ethical framework of the Qur’an and Sunnah.
Our vision is to build a spiritually grounded, knowledgeable, and compassionate Muslim community that is deeply connected to faith, actively engaged in society, and committed to serving future generations through Islamic education, worship, outreach, and community development.

Building a Permanent Home for the Community
Our journey
NYMA continued growing as a grassroots community organization dedicated to providing prayer services, Islamic education, and support programs for Muslims across North York.
Alhamdulillah, Phase 1 of the new masjid project was completed with the successful acquisition of 120 & 128 Sheppard Avenue West, creating the foundation for a permanent Islamic center for the community.
NYMA launched Phase 2 of its masjid project. Phase 2: a dedicated $400,000 Renovation Fund to prepare our new home for worship, inshaAllah. From carpeting the prayer halls to finishing the wudu spaces, every contribution helps make this masjid ready for the community to walk through its doors. Phase 1 was the foundation. Phase 2 is the finish. Please give generously, and may Allah reward you for every step of this journey with us.
